Senior star Chiyaan Vikram has been going through a rough phase for a very long time. His attempts to reinvent himself are evident. His sincere efforts to deliver something different, blended with impactful performances, have been noticeable. However, nothing seems to be working at the box office. Now, he is back with his new film Veera Dheera Sooran.
Veera Dheera Sooran faced release issues. Yesterday, reports emerged that the film could not be released in India until 10:30 a.m. due to a legal dispute.
An interim court order was issued after a company B4u Entertainment, which had acquired the digital and satellite rights, ran into a conflict.
Even PVR and Cinepolis removed some scheduled shows in Bangalore.
The film has been in the news for several wrong reasons.
Strangely, adding to the chaos, Veera Dheera Sooran’s USA premiere shows were also canceled.
Varun Tendkotta, co-founder took to Twitter/X, questioning why such issues happen only with Tamil films. He stated that if premieres cannot be released, they should not be announced before resolving financial matters. He expressed sympathy for the distributors, who, despite paying the full amount, must go through the hassle of explaining cancellations to theaters.
It is indeed surprising that a film starring an actor of Vikram’s stature was pulled from US premieres at the last minute. This is a disappointing development, especially for the buyers who had fully paid for the film. It could also kill whatever little momentum the film had, even though there wasn’t much hype to begin with. And distributors now have to process refunds and reschedule shows, which is a logistical nightmare.
With this situation, Veera Dheera Sooran reviews from US premieres will not be available. Since the film has been pulled from release there, we will have to wait for Veera Dheera Sooran reviews from Indian screenings.
