Viduthalai Part 1 was critically acclaimed and a commercial hit, but Viduthalai Part 2 received only an average response and ended as a box office flop. Despite this, Vetrimaaran is moving forward with the idea of making movies in multiple parts.
This decision has drawn criticism on social media, with many users questioning the approach. Some argue that it is becoming unacceptable to make films in multiple parts without considering the challenges that come with it.

There is also speculation that the mixed response to Viduthalai Part 2 might be due to Vetrimaaran taking advantage of his prior success and the audience’s admiration. Critics suggest that this has led him to deliver an average film in Viduthalai 2.
Nevertheless, the pre-production for Vaadivaasal is already underway, and reports indicate that once Suriya completes his work with RJ Balaji, the shooting of Vaadivaasal will begin.
