Upasana Kamineni Konidela is stepping into a new role at Apollo Hospitals, and the timing makes it interesting. Apollo is preparing for a major expansion across India, with around Rs 8,600 crore planned for new hospitals, expansions and upgrades.
Upasana is set to take over as Director – Projects at Apollo Hospitals. She will be looking after hospital projects and their execution, including expansion and upgrade works.
The new responsibility comes as Apollo is looking to grow its presence across the country. With a large investment lined up, there will be several projects to plan and execute, putting Upasana in a key role during this expansion phase.
Upasana has already been part of the Apollo group and has been associated with its CSR activities. Her new assignment takes her into a different area, with the focus now moving towards projects and infrastructure.
The Rs 8,600 crore expansion gives the appointment an added significance. Upasana is not taking over the role during a quiet phase for Apollo. She is stepping in when the group is preparing to build and upgrade on a much larger scale across India.
