The whole tech sector is indeed booming and some are just jumping ships form one big corp of another. Now Microsoft is reporting one such incident as their long-term employee Panos Panay will be stepping down from his role as Product Chief.
Yusuf Mehdi will be replacing Panay. Previously, Mehdi was appointed for consumer marketing efforts, and now he is taking over the Surface and Windows businesses.
According to some reliable sources, Panay left Microsoft as he is now hired by Amazon. For instance, Panay was actually associated with Microsoft for twenty years, and now breaking the ties will give a fresh start for both parties.
Panay will be overseeing the firm’s Alexa and Echo products. Meanwhile, Mehdi will be assuming his new responsibilities.
Microsoft also announced that Pavan Davuluri, an ex-IITian, will lead a hardware engineering team that includes Microsoft’s efforts to develop its own chips.
These new changes will also have a massive impact on Microsoft’s new venture regarding AI. Incorporating it into the Office and Cloud system will bring more growth to the platform.
Microsoft also announced that they will be hosting a special event on September 21st.
