The lawsuit originated after Apple acknowledged its intentional throttling of device speeds.

Owners of specific iPhone models – namely the 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and SE – running iOS 10.2.1 or later until December 21, 2017, as well as the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus on iOS 11.2 or earlier, qualified for this settlement.

The resolution, totaling between $310 million and $500 million, benefits over 3 million claimants.

However, the exact payment remains variable, with the $65 representing an approximate estimate. It’s important to note that participation closed on October 6, 2020, restricting eligibility to a subset of affected users.”
