There’s already a discussion going around about the ethics around use of AI in society and the concerned dangers associated with it. Deepfakes has become a huge problem for society today and it was made possible only because of such advancements in AI that anyone can create them these days. Under such a situation, OpenAI is considering rolling out a feature to create adult content on its platform.
OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, the most widely used generative AI is believed to be considering allowing users to create adult only content using ChatGPT. Technically termed as not-safe-for-work, NSFW was not allowed by the company in previous versions.
This would largely shift the onus of responsible use of AI on the user and hence it has become a matter of debate around the world. AI has managed to create a bad reputation for itself thanks to all the deepfakes circulating on the internet.
OpenAI has asserted that deepfake would remain banned on the platform but the concern still lies as the platform is accessed by kids and minors as well. Company said that it is committed to protecting users and kids and wants to explore discussions around sexuality in “age-appropriate context”.
