Don’t Trust Bard; Says Google Official

Don't Trust Bard; Says Google OfficialFor your assignments and emails, AI chatbots are more than helpful, but when it comes to collecting reliable data, any chatbot shouldn’t be your reliable source. It’s not just us; even Google’s UK executive shares this information.

Google recently launched their Google Bard, which was created to give competition to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. As you rely on Google when it comes to information, a Google executive warns users regarding trust.

“We know people count on Google for accurate information, and we’re encouraging people to actually use Google as the search engine,” she elaborates in her recent interview. She later adds that people should prioritise Google search engine over the chatbot by Google.

Though most AI chatbots warn users regarding the chance of showing incorrect data, Bard doesn’t make itself an exception as it also states the limitations and the chances of yielding false data. Users are always advised to cross-check the data to be double sure.

Not like Bard, even the most advanced chatbots like GPT-4 are inclined to commit mistakes. They coin this problem as hallucination, and it is a prominent problem in all developing AI chatbots.

Google launched its chatbot in February, and the wrong information grabbed the attention of the people, even affecting the share prices. Now, with time and more usage, they are indeed developing. Though it raises trust issues among users, if used correctly, chatbots are harmless for regular usage.
