A huge number of Indians visit the UAE every year. It has been one of the most popular tourist destinations for many years. One of the most tiresome things are over there are payment methods especially when you are a PhonePe user. Although, after the introduction of online payment methods, things have become easier. However, certain customers who use PhonePe, a popular online transaction app in India, had to face difficulties in UAE as PhonePe didn’t work there.
Now the issue seems to have been resolved. Recently, PhonePe joined hands with Mashreq Bank in UAE to collaborate with NeoPay, another payment app in UAE. This will ease the work for users of PhonePe.
The deal has been made in order to expand PhonePe’s reach internationally. Users will be able to make payments through UPI simply by scanning the QR code. This will work across a range of places like retail stores, dining outlets, or even hotels.
It is also been said that the money will be debited from a user’s account in INR. This deal will also act as a new market for PhonePe as now people in UAE can also download the app from local phone numbers. Do let us know your thoughts about this partnership.
