Tesla has become immensely popular among Indian households in the USA, with nearly every desi household owning one. One look at the desi grocery store parking lot will make it clear. You will find almost one Tesla in every five cars parked in the parking lot.
This was also evident during the recent grand consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, where Indians organized car rallies across 21 cities in the US, including an innovative Tesla Car musical show dedicated to Lord Ram.
Such events underscore the widespread appeal of Tesla among Indian Americans.
In the latest development, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has mandated that all new Tesla buyers in North America undergo a demonstration of the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode.
This directive requires buyers to experience the capabilities of FSD, which, although not fully autonomous, enhances driver assistance with features like autosteer on city streets, traffic lights, and stop sign control.
This requirement extends not only to new buyers but also to existing owners whose vehicles have been serviced.
Musk emphasized the importance of understanding the supervised FSD technology, despite acknowledging potential delays in the delivery process.
Moreover, Musk announced that all Tesla models equipped with Full Self-Driving capability will receive a complimentary one-month trial.
This move aims to familiarize more users with Tesla’s autonomous driving features, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing automotive technology.
This news coincides with a new software update. While most Tesla vehicles come with Full Self-Driving technology built-in, owners must pay an additional fee of up to $12,000, to unlock its full capabilities.
