In an effort to foster innovation in battery recycling technologies for electric vehicles (EVs), India and the EU have cooperated. The EU initiated a matchmaking event to boost cooperation between EU-Indian SMEs and startups in clean and green technology, by launching an Expression of Interest (EOI) for entrepreneurs in this sector.

The June event is to promote knowledge and experience exchange for furthering rare material circularity and both countries’ transition to carbon neutrality. The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, highlighted the significance of sustainability and innovation in a thriving circular economy.

A Matchmaking Event is being organised by the EU and India with the aim of identifying and promoting entrepreneurs that are committed to developing battery recycling technology for electric cars (EVs).

The event, which will be held in both locations, will give companies the chance to investigate trade routes, customer interactions, investment potential, and cooperative efforts.

The occasion comes after the EU-India Trade and Technology Council (TTC) was founded in February 2023 with the goal of addressing trade, security, and trusted technology issues and strengthening these areas of collaboration. The occasion is a positive step towards the development of a circular and green economy.
