There is one thing India has revolutionized and that is online transactions. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that New Delhi and Paris will establish a connection that will change how foreign payment works.
“India and France have agreed to use UPI in France. In the coming days, it will begin from the Eiffel Tower which means Indian tourists will now be able to pay in rupees,” the PM said.
National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) has been working on this decision for more than a year now and implementation is about to happen. NPCI is collaborating with MoU which provides France’s fast and secure online payment system, called Lyra.
This will not only help in easier foreign payments, but it will also remove the sketchy exchange rates and an easier method for all Indians.
He also addressed various other steps such as a longer visa period for Indian students. Any student who is pursuing a master’s in France can now opt 5-year long-term post-study work visa.
This event celebrated the 25-year-long strategic partnership between India and France and promises multiple cooperation in the upcoming years.
