Microsoft has a new leader in its AI department, and his name is Mustafa Suleyman. He’s got quite the background: born in Britain to parents from Syria and England, he grew up in London. Before diving into the world of tech, he started a charity called the Muslim Youth Helpline to help young people in need.
You might have heard of Google’s DeepMind. Well, Suleyman was one of the folks who started it. He’s been big on making sure AI is used ethically and responsibly. After leaving Google, he started his own AI company called Inflection, which got a lot of attention and money for its cool projects.
Now, he’s joining Microsoft, where he’ll be in charge of making AI stuff for regular folks to use. Think of things like smart features in Windows and making Bing better at understanding what you’re searching for.
He’s not alone, though. His buddy Karen Simonyan is coming along too. They’ve brought some super smart friends from Inflection with them to help out.
With Suleyman at the helm, Microsoft is gearing up to make AI even more helpful and easy to use for everyone.
