With the never-ending competition between social media apps, WhatsApp stands out as a prime application that has maintained a strong grip for over a decade.
The platform has continuously updated itself with the latest features. Now, WhatsApp is set to launch a new feature allowing users to share instant video messages, which will be short videos limited to 60 seconds.
Previously, the app only supported instant audio and text messages, but this addition will enable users to create and share end-to-end encrypted short videos easily.
While users could share videos before, this new feature streamlines the process with a separate icon placed near the text box. When sent to the recipient, the video will play automatically but with no sound. However, viewers can activate the sound by clicking on the video.
This new feature bears similarities to Telegram’s “1 min video” option and can be utilized to share birthday wishes and other time-sensitive information.
Currently, the feature is rolling out and will soon be available on both Android and iOS platforms. To access this feature, users need to download the latest version of WhatsApp.
