In a major update not just for Telangana but for India, Corning Inc. the leading smartphone glass makers, have decided to set up their first Gorllia Glass factory in Telangana.
The factory will manufacture Corning’s widely popular and reliable ‘Gorilla Glass’, an innovation that prevents screens (smart phones, tablets and laptops) from breaking easily.
Corning Inc will invest ₹934 in Telangana that would generate employment for around 800 people. At the same time, it will enhance India’s claim as the future of smartphone manufacturing.
Telangana has emerged as one of the most sought after destinations for foreign companies looking to establish a plant in the country. Just a few months back, Foxconn had invested a total of $550 million for manufacturing of electronics in the state.
Apart from that Hyderabad is home to numerous IT offices in the country. Even Amazon has its biggest office in Hyderabad. So, it was no surprise when Corning Inc chose Telangana for their new investment.
