The development in technology is allowing humanity to make giant leaps forward. Technology like AI is allowing us to do things that we had never thought could be possible. But as we move closer and closer to what we can call an actually intelligent artificial entity, fear grips us with questions of uncertainty associated with such an intelligence.
AI technology is the most talked about scientific development of the decade and it has made a large number of experts concerned about it. The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti said on Monday that India and the US should have a deeper conversation on AI.
He said that these conversations would help shape a regulatory framework on Artificial intelligence which does not exist at the moment. This would also help in building a multiplicative relationship between the two countries.
He stressed on the need to ‘get in front’ of AI to avoid any catastrophic consequences. There have already been talks about the issue between the countries but no formal statement has been made yet.
In the US, the government is keeping track on all the AI development taking place in the country. They are assessing the vulnerability and risk associated with every AI product.
