All of us are aware of “Sophia” an AI generated robot, who is capable of interacting with humans, and can do human-like things. Sophia was first activated on Valentine’s day 2016. And, she was all over the internet with her amazing skills. Proving AI can do wonders.
But, recently on 4th March at DeepFest in Saudi Arabia, “Mohammed” , the first bilingual AI robot, was introduced by Saudi Arabia. Showing how technologically engineered they are.
But, The AI modified robot was caught on camera touching the reporter inappropriately. Leaving the whole internet and the reporter, Rawiya Al-Qasimi puzzled.
The question raises, in which way this male AI robot is being coded. Because, it is very common to understand that the hand gestures of the robots or the movements it is going to make are already being programmed. Then why “Mohammed – The AI Robot” , harassed the reporter inappropriately. Questions are raised against the programmer and the industry that, “Do they not know what is appropriate and what is inappropriate”.
The internet is flooded with responses as someone is saying, “that says a lot about the ‘People’ “, and someone is saying that “Probably it’s a glitch” , someone sarcastically remarked , “ such representation” .
