We reported last month, just days before their graduation from the University of Georgia, three students tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA.
On May 15, 18-year-old Telugu student Sriya Avasarala, along with classmates Aryan Joshi and Anvi Sharma, were involved in a fatal crash.
The car, driven by fellow Telugu student Ritwik Sompalli, lost control, hit a tree, and overturned on Westside Parkway.
Sriya Avasarala and Aryan Joshi died at the scene, while Anvi Sharma, who was seated in the rear, succumbed to her injuries at North Fulton Hospital.
Now eighteen-year-old Ritwik Sompalli has been charged with the deaths of three teenage passengers. He was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail early Wednesday morning, facing three counts of vehicular homicide and one count of reckless driving.
Sriya Avasarala, a freshman and avid dancer at the University of Georgia, was returning to her university hostel with her friends after a dance rehearsal when the accident occurred.
The incident, which took place around 7:55 p.m. on May 14, resulted in the closure of Westside Parkway until early the next morning.
