It has again come to light how unsafe New York City is for its residents. In the wee hours of Monday, activist and poet Ryan Carson was stabbed to death in New York when he was returning from a wedding with his girlfriend. The incident took place in Bedford-Stuyvesant where Ryan and his girlfriend were sitting on a bench at the bus stop.
The video of the horrific crime has gone viral and has raised serious questions regarding safety in the Metropolis. It initially appears that the attacker stabbed Ryan with no specific reason other than him being there. The suspect was seen kicking the parked scooters and then suddenly turned towards Ryan. He can be seen threatening Ryan that he will kill him.
Later the attacker stabbed Ryan multiple times in the chest after which he fell on the ground unconscious. The attacker returned and tried threatening the girl Ryan was with but she shouted for help and he stepped back.
There was another woman at the crime scene who was trying to stop the assailant from attacking the woman. The police suspect that this woman might be a known person to the main suspect as she could be heard saying a name a few times.
