American Senator Voices For Indians In Green Card Queue

Green Card

The long queue of deserving Indian candidates waiting for their green cards is no news in today’s USA. The amount of Indians who have worked hard and bet their entire lives on this Green card is not a matter of joke yet the authorities seem ignorant about this problem. Recently, a US senator addressed this problem in a video highlighting the key elements of it. The fact that there are Indians who have been going through a decade-long process of waiting to get the green card whereas on the other hand for Germans it’s a 12-month-long process, shows their incentive. Utah senator called it, “Anti-ethical to American values”.

The US-based green card is the medium that lets people become a permanent resident and the ways of getting it are far and few. Indians mostly apply for the employment-based green card and the wait for its approval never ends. On the other hand, a German applicant with similar qualifications and expertise will get it within the time limit of 12 months. This ignorance towards hardworking and skilled individuals coming from a particular country is shameful and Senator Mike Lee has addressed this discrimination. A country claiming that it wants to attract top talent and knows how to utilize it seems to need to remember basic ethical values.
