A French space scientist was allegedly held at a US airport for a “random check” and his texts and conversations were checked by the authorities. When CBP officers found he had been critical of Trump’s cuts on scientific research his visa was canceled and he was subsequently sent back.

In a bizarre update, reports suggest his political opinions were branded as “hateful” and even “terrorist-like.” The scientist was sent packing, and the FBI briefly got involved before dropping the case.
Many people, including France’s Higher Education Minister, are calling this move “concerning” and stressed the importance of free speech. But it seems, in today’s America, criticizing Trump is the same as planning a Terrorist attack.
