An Indian family was left in shock as their daughter became a victim of a horrifying air crash in America.
Asra Hussain Raza, 26-year-old daughter to Indian immigrant parents, was one of 67 people killed in a deadly collision between an American Airlines flight and an Army Helicopter.
The tragic incident that took place in the Ronald Reagan National Airport is being called the deadliest US Aviation Disaster since 2001.
Asra’s newlywed husband, Hamaad Raza, was met with the unfortunate news when he arrived at the airport to pick her up. “You hear about these things happening in other countries, but never think it’ll happen to you,” he said to the media.
At just 26, Asra had a bright future ahead. A graduate of Indiana University she was building her career as a consultant in Washington DC.
Her father-in-law remembered how she took care of everyone in the family even after long shifts at work.
As the tragedy unfolds, the reason behind this devastating crash is still unknown. 67 innocent lives have been lost and it should be investigated who is responsible.
