Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week during Modi’s visit to the United States.

Trump, the Republican presidential candidate made this announcement during his campaign rally in Michigan. During his speech, Trump called Modi “a fantastic man”. At the same time, he called India a big abuser of trade relationships.

During his speech, Trump said, “So when India, which is a very big abuser. He (Narendra Modi) happens to be coming to meet me next week, and Modi, he’s fantastic. I mean, fantastic man.”

Modi will visit the US to attend the 4th Quad summit, which is scheduled to be held from September 21 to September 23. Meanwhile, there is no meeting scheduled between Modi and Trump in the PM’s agenda.

The 4th Quad Summit will be hosted by US President Joe Biden and it will be held at his hometown Wilmington in Delaware. After that, Modi will move to New York.

PM Modi will address the Indian community in New York On September 22. He will attend the “Summit of the Future” at the United Nations General Assembly on October 23.

On the same day, Modi will meet the CEOs of prominent US-based companies to develop the collaboration between the two countries in various fields like AI, semiconductors, biotechnology and quantum computing.




Though it is not in Modi’s schedule, it has to be seen if he meets Trump during his US visit. However, Trump’s statement about meeting with Modi ahead of the presidential elections grabbed the attention of the people.
