Gang Robs US NRIs Home: Massive Loot Busted

Gang Robs US NRIs Home

A US-based NRI thought his locked house in India would be safe with his valuables inside. But this deception was broken by a gang of thieves, who are finally caught after a month’s search.

Kanwar Amarinderdeep Singh and his wife Gurjeet Kaur had been living in the US since May last year, leaving their house in Amritsar locked. However, the main gate was broken into when Gurjeet’s brother visited their place on January 20.

Along with the valuables, the robbers took away a 60-inch LED, Activa Scooter, microwave and two LPG Cylinders. After investigating for nearly a month 3 individuals have been arrested— Raj Kumar alias Tamatar (20), Sunny Kumar (23), and Keshav Sharma (27).

Punjab Police also revealed that the accused are not at all first-time offenders. Sunny alone has five cases against him, while Raj Kumar has a history of similar thefts.

The repeated offenders roaming free raises questions on the legal system that fails to keep criminals behind the bars.

The Police claims that the investigation is still ongoing and more recoveries will be made. Maybe it hints at an even bigger racket and more arrests linked to the case.
