The Indian scientific diaspora is renowned for its excellence and has contributed in their fields in numerous countries. It has come to a point when countries are requesting them to stay in the country. The Labour Minister of Germany Hubertus Heil has publicly appealed to science migrants from India to stay in the country and not get lured by the offers they receive from other countries.
There has been an exodus of numerous English speaking migrants from the scientific community in Germany and to avoid a scarcity of English speakers, the country wants to make sure the Indians stay as they constitute a very big population.
Germany is one of the top destinations for Indian students who want to pursue their career in sciences. The country offers world class institutes and immense scope for research with attractive grants.
In recent times many European countries including the UK are offering better pay and opportunities to these academics which is luring them into taking up jobs there. The situation is very helpful for the academics as it’s going to allow them to get better opportunities wherever they want.
