One developer shared how a desi consultancy placed him at a Boston company through layers of middlemen. His offer letter had no salary details, yet he signed it in a rush to report to his college. Later, he was told his pay would be just $20/hour, blaming a “bad interview.”

When he asked questions, he just got vague answers. They promised to file his H1B without charging, but refused to reveal the LCA (Labor Condition Application) wage. As per law, they must pay the salary listed in the LCA. But enforcement of this law is weak, and many employers exploit this.
The techie is also stuck doing testing work he hates, forced to grind from 8 AM to 11 PM. He feels scammed as he can’t even switch jobs easily because only this firm filed his H1B.

Yes, H1B transfer is possible after approval, but timing matters. He can’t even resign until the new employer files his transfer.
In this current economy, it is getting harder for Indian students to look for jobs in the US after graduation. That is why many are taking such desperate measures just to survive or get an H-1B visa sponsor in any way possible.
