Congressman Ro Khanna, who co-chairs the Congressional India Caucus, talked about the importance of understanding India’s colonial history, over a century.
According to him when you come here with the intention of lecturing India you have to understand that it won’t be fruitful, because over hundreds of years India have been colonised and the pattern of coming from that very to lecture again won’t be productive.
Khanna suggested that a more constructive approach would be to acknowledge the imperfections in both American and Indian democracies and work together to advance democracy and human rights.
