Indian Origin Body Calls On Action!

India’s Ambassador to the USA was subjected to heckling by a few miscreants when he visited a gurdwara in New York. After the incident, an Indian American body not only condemned the actions of these troublemakers but also demanded strict actions against them. India’s Ambassador to the USA, Taranjit Singh Sandhu went to the Hicksville gurdwara in Long Island to offer prayers on Sunday.

Upon his arrival, a few khalistan supporters started heckling him and shouted at him. They raised questions about the death of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. Other members of the Sikh community escorted these pro-khalistanis out of the gurdwara.

Sikhs of America, an organization for the Sikh community in the USA urged the management of Gurdwara Sahib to take strict actions against those involved in the incident. In a statement, they said that gurdwara is a place for worship and should be free from personal political views.

There were speculations of Sandhu facing big opposition from khalistanis but the visit was largely marked by warm welcome of the ambassador by the Sikh community.
