The Joe Biden administration has appointed an Indian American to a key position in the White House. Indian origin lawyer, Shakuntala L Bhaya has been appointed as a member of the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States. This comes as great news for Ms Bhaya and the Indian American community living in the United States.
The appointment was made by Joe Biden on Wednesday when several other appointments were also made by the president of the US. Shakuntala is the co-owner of a statewide Delaware law firm, Law Offices of Doroshow, Pasquale, Krawitz & Bhaya.
Shakuntala fights for people who get severely injured because of businesses and people making unsafe decisions. She has also actively fought for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community seeking legal remedies for couples and allowing them to avail adoption.
She is also constantly involved in Delaware politics. She is a pro choice democrat and focuses her work in diversity, equity and inclusion. She was the first South Asian Indian to make her place in the Delaware Bar Association.
