Complaints are arising from Indian students abroad as banks are becoming increasingly cautious about approving loans for them. This discomfort might extend to visa applications and hospitality services.

In fiscal year 2023, data from the Reserve Bank of India indicates a 17 percent increase in the total amount of education loans held by Indian banks, rising from Rs 82,723 crore in the previous year to Rs 96,847 crore.

Each year, a growing number of students opt to pursue their education overseas, seeking opportunities for personal and academic growth beyond their home country.

According to data from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, more than 1.3 million Indian students have embarked on this educational journey, spanning 79 different countries.

Remarkably, Canada hosts over 180,000 of these students, making it their second most preferred destination after the USA.

Certain individuals are also advising students to explore alternative options if they encounter any difficulties. However, with ongoing Khalistani protests, the prospect of peace appears more distant than anticipated.
