Narendra Modi’s popularity keeps rising overseas as the Indian PM is set to travel to the US to address a gathering of Indian-Americans. The event is expected to be jam-packed with the organizers already getting an overwhelming response.
PM Modi will visit the US on September 22 to address a gathering at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, NY. There’s a huge hype for the event as over 24,000 Indian-Americans have already registered for the event, which has a capacity of 15,000.
After seeing such enthusiasm amongst people, the Indo-American Community of USA (IACU) expressed their desire to accommodate as many people as possible. They are looking to expand the seating arrangement for the same.
Despite BJP facing a decline in the number of seats in this year’s Lok Sabha election, Modi’s popularity remains unmatched. It will be a great power play to remind everyone how well he is revered amongst the Indian people worldwide.
This is an important visit to the country as the US gears up for Presidential elections in November this year. It will be interesting to see if PM Modi will back any of the candidates as for the first time an Indian-American is likely to become the US President. However, against Kamala Harris is Modi’s old friend Donald Trump, who might want to get some support from the Indian PM. There’s no doubt both parties would be monitoring the event closely as much as the Indian people.
