But there is also a dark side to the city that goes unnoticed by the outsiders. Sadly the city is not as kind to everyone. Videos are surfacing showing hundreds of homeless people living under bridges and on pavements. The city looks covered in trash and far from the dreamland that it is portrayed as in movies.
Big cities like Los Angeles and New York promise opportunities to millions of people from all around the world. But the glamour of these cities isn’t cheap and therefore dreams of a number of these people end up in the streets. Temporary settlements like tents surrounded by trash has become a common feature at big cities all around the world.
America, the land of freedom and opportunity, is suffering from huge disparity at both social and economical front. The development and progress made by the West seems hollow when pictures like these show that they’re suffering from the same problems of housing and poverty like the developing and underdeveloped nations.
