A 27-year-old just returned to India after spending three years in the US on an F-1 visa. He studied and worked harder — but in the end, even his OPT (Optional Practical Training) permit didn’t work out.
Now, he’s back in a tier-3 city, in a 2BHK with his parents, staring at a ₹25 lakh loan. He had no job in India before leaving as the pandemic killed that chance.

Therefore, he spent a year just preparing for the GRE, TOEFL, and visa. Then for three years, he spent at his dream place; one of them just facing endless rejections.
He watched his friends buy flats, get married, and get promoted while scrolling through LinkedIn and other social media platforms, eventually leading him to distance himself and delete these accounts.

After trying his hand at a dream in a foreign land, he decides to reinvent himself. The former OPT holder has now joined his father’s small business, one he says can earn as much as a software engineer.
It is up to him to build something that actually lasts. The NRI ensures he will work for this Indian dream harder so the next generation in his family doesn’t have to beg for interviews or visa lottery luck.
