Record Number Of Indians Captured At USA Border!

Indians Captured At USA Border

n recent years countries have been grappling with the issue of illegal immigration, with the US, to no one’s shock, being the country which is suffering from it the most. It is of great shame that Indians are amongst the leading contributors in this issue, with the US department of Justice releasing the data which reveals that in the month of September alone, 8,076 Indians were caught trying to illegally enter The United States via various routes.

While the tensions between India and Canada refuse to come down since the latter’s Prime Minister accused the Indian government of murdering Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar on its soil, it by no means has stopped Indians from entering the US via its neighbor in the North. The report shows that out of the 8,076 people caught, a staggering 38% or 3,059 of these were arrested on the US – Canada border, making it the highest number of monthly such arrests in this region since October 2022.

The illegal immigrants included 530 individuals who arrived with their entire families, four unaccompanied children, four children accompanied by family members and the largest category being that of single adults, 2,521 in strength. Trends show that illegal Indian immigrants prefer entering the country via the Mexico border but this time the number of arrests recorded there were 3,862 which is not a huge difference when compared to its Canadian counterpart. This is a shocker as despite numerous cases of families losing their lives in the process, a huge influx of such immigrants refuses to let alone stop but even slow down.

The record number of illegal immigrants caught entering the country underscores the complex nature of immigration challenges facing the United States. Striking a balance between robust border security, humanitarian concerns, and comprehensive immigration policies is essential. Addressing the root causes of illegal immigration through international cooperation, economic development in source countries, and comprehensive reform is crucial for achieving a more sustainable and humane approach to this ongoing issue. A police officer said that despite the efforts of Gujarat Police, Indian Agencies and even Canada, flow of these illegal Indian immigrants is inexorable.
