The Edison Police Department is seeking assistance in locating 19-year-old Shaylan “Shay” Shah, an Indian American who has been missing since the morning of July 15. The last known sighting of Shay was in the vicinity of Linda Lane and Westgate Drive in Edison, New Jersey.
Concerned for their son’s well-being, Shay’s parents, Rich and Kalpana Shah, took to social media to appeal for help in locating him. Community members and social media users are spreading the word and raising awareness about the missing teenager by forming search parties and distributing flyers.
The Edison Police Department has launched an extensive search operation, utilizing resources such as K9 units, drones, and assistance from the NJ State Police Search and Rescue Unit.
Authorities have urged the local public to share if they have any information about Shay, regardless of how minor it may seem, and guarantee confidentiality for those who come forward with tips.
The case of Shaylan Shah adds to a string of recent incidents involving missing Indian Americans, including the safe recovery of Tanvi Marupally and the tragic discovery of Lahari Pathivada’s body
