The disappearance of the Ocean Gate Titan submersible is one of the most talked about topics on social media for the last few days.
The submarine carrying multimillionaires is suspected to have imploded in the Atlantic Ocean while those on-board were on a voyage to scale the Titanic that’s underneath the ocean.
A full scale search operation has been launched to identify and trace the submarine as the families of those onboard hope for a miracle.
It is estimated that about more than $10 million has been spent on the operation till now. This is a conservative estimate and the final tally could be more. State of art oceanic technology is being used to detect the presence of submersible.
This has now led to the discussion on social media that who pays for these elaborate operations, is it the taxpayers, or some insurance company associated with Ocean Gate?
There are reports that the family of Pakistani billionaire Shehzada Dawood, and his son Sulaiman Dawood have come forward to fund the operation.
There’s a concern amongst the common folk that is the taxpayers money is being used for the operation. If that is the case, then there could be a huge uproar.
There are media reports Shahzada Dawood insisted on his son Sulaiman onboarding the submarine despite the latter being badly scared about it. This has led to severe criticism as well.
