Now, there is a good awareness among Telugu folks living in the United States regarding gun violence and the increasing number of daily shootings.
Families who used to hang out without fear a few years ago are now changing their habits, avoiding outdoor activities, especially at late nights, unless they feel it is absolutely safer.
The awareness still needs to reach MS students, as a large number of youth arrive every year without understanding how unsafe certain areas in the U.S. can be.
Not only are gun shootings on the rise, but muggings as well. However, many of these incidents go unreported unless there are serious injuries or crimes involved.
MS students who hang out with friends, particularly on weekends and late nights, should be cautious and realize that America is not the same as it was a few years ago.
We recently shared a video on Twitter showing a mugging incident where three Indians were attacked on Devon Street in Chicago, fortunately with no injuries.
It is crucial for Telugu folks to prioritize their safety and realize how quickly a situation can turn unsafe within minutes in the U.S.
