USCIS Green Card Crackdown

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has once again issued a warning—and this time, even Green Card holders aren’t safe.

In a new post on X (formerly Twitter), USCIS declared, “We continuously work alongside our DHS [Department of Homeland Security] partners to rigorously vet all aliens even after a visa or green card has been obtained. This vigilance is essential to making America safe again. Break the laws and you will lose your green card or visa privilege.”

This comes just days after USCIS posted another message literally putting “everyone” on notice. The tone and timing suggest a major crackdown is under wraps—one that could mirror the chaos already faced by international students since January.

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) had already canceled the legal status of nearly 5,000 F-1, M, and J visa holders over political activism, minor infractions like a speeding ticket, and in some cases—even charges that were later dropped.

Thousands of innocent students were left panicking until the courts stepped in and reversed these terminations. If that was a test run, Green Card holders may be next in line.

The message is clear: even permanent residency can’t guarantee safety in today’s America. And if this is just the start of Trump’s second term, it’s terrifying to think what four more years of this might look like.
