The film goes into how the Income Tax Department takes on high level corruption, with added pressure of political power and influence.

While the first Raid was more emotionally engaging and tight in writing, Raid 2 goes for a bigger canvas, more action and political tension.

But others felt the film lacked the sharp storytelling and depth that made the first part special.

The supporting cast including Vaani Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Amit Sial added value but the narrative didn’t hit as hard emotionally.

That’s a fair reflection of where the film is today. It worked in theatres, now it’s time to see how it works on OTT.

As it releases on Netflix on June 26, the real test will be whether it finds a new audience or loses steam. With Netflix’s reach and promotion, the film will get good visibility.

Whether people will connect with it more at home will decide how far Raid 2 goes from here.
