Recently, Amaran, a Tamil language film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, was released on Netflix for pan-Indian demographics. The makers wished to reach more and more audiences and get recognition nationwide.
It has been produced by Kamal Hassan, and has Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan in lead roles. While it is being appreciated for the story and bravery of Major Mukund Varadarajan, many feel that it feels just like a remake of films like Shershah or Major that has come out in recent times.

It is great that the valour of war heroes is getting acknowledged by the entertainment industry. But the makers should also pay attention to the uniqueness of the narrative and provide some authenticity.
Fans feel that the trend of War Hero films might have washed down the appreciation Amaran actually deserved. The plot follows a similar line of love and separation, followed by death in the war that was seen in Shershah.
