Pakistan and India might not see eye to eye in political matters and on the cricket ground but time and again the two countries have united on the entertainment front, in spite of all the backlash. Yet again a joint production by India and Pakistan has made it in the news. The Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan produced series Barzakh has come to our small screens as it premiers on ZEE5 and Zindagi. The series is written and directed by Asim Abbasi and has Fawad Khan and Sanam Saed in lead roles along with Salman Shahid, Faiza Gillani and Sajid Hassan. Cinematographer Mo Azmi deserves a special mention as the series has been receiving high praise for its stunning visuals.
The story covers the journey of love and loss haunted by the past and the afterlife. The present seems to be entangled between the different dimensions of time and space. The course of action is set when a wealthy old man invites his sons for his 3rd wedding. A cloud of mystery lurks from the onset and makes the viewers eager to know the whole truth. The breathtaking visuals of the valley and intricate cinematography has definitely made the storytelling special. The show has delivered potential by intermingling contemporary world and Islamic mythology.
