Bigg Boss and reality TV have long been among the most popular genres of shows. While many genuinely enjoy them, others, even if they find them terrible or cringeworthy, can’t help but keep watching. These shows are quite addictive, and audiences often find themselves eagerly waiting for the next episode.
Adding to the growing list of reality shows, Karan Johar is now launching another thrilling series titled The Traitors. This Prime Video show is set to stream from June 12, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
The show will be hosted by Karan Johar and features 20 players, including:
Purav Jha, Karan Kundrra, Harsh Gujral, Ashish Vidyarthi, Apoorva (aka Rebel Kid), Uorfi Javed, Jasmine Bhasin, Lakshmi Manchu, Raftaar, Elnaaz Norouzi, Nikita Luther, Anshula Kapoor, Raj Kundra, Janvi Gaur, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Mukesh Chhabra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sahil Salathia, and Sufi Motiwala.
Among these 20 players, three will secretly be traitors, eliminating the rest one by one, while the others must identify and vote out the traitors before it’s too late.
The trailer dropped yesterday, and fans have had mixed reactions.
Some are calling it a fabulous and thrilling show with a cool cast, even dubbing it a worthy competitor to Bigg Boss.
Others are more sceptical, calling it a chaotic mix of Bigg Boss, Roadies, Splitsvilla, and the viral lockdown game Among Us. They believe it’s peak cringe and label it as another show no one asked for, claiming it looks worse than Bigg Boss and is just more reality show trash for Indian audiences.
While the internet continues to debate whether the show will be good or not, if it turns out anything like the reality shows it draws inspiration from, The Traitors might just be an addictive guilty pleasure, whether people admit it or not.
