The season 8 of the Bigg Boss Telugu TV show is coming to an end today. After 15 weeks, the curtains are coming down for the prestigious reality show. The news is already out that Nikhil is the game-show winner this season.
But, there are mixed opinions about the same. A section of the audience is unhappy that a non-Telugu-native celebrity is picked as the winner.

As per the trends on social media and the contestants’ performances, both Gautham Krishna and Nikhil deserve to be the winners.
Both have an equal chance. While Gautham is a Telugu person, Nikhil’s mother tongue is not Telugu, and he hails from Karnataka.

Nikhil shot to fame with Telugu TV serials and reality shows. He is one of those Kannada artists who earned stardom in Telugu TV serials.
Ever since he entered the reality show and started playing well, a section of people opined that the show has more Kannada flavor. People like Yashmi Gowda, Prithviraj Shetty, Nikhil, and Prerana Kambam are non-Telugu celebrities.

So, whenever they are teamed up for a game or task and tasted victory, people used to express the opinion that the Kannada people are being given importance.
On the flip side, all the others in the Bigg Boss house are Telugu persons. The Telugu-Kannada angle sparked controversy especially, after Gautham Krishna found himself in the danger zone, at the time of Manikanta’s eviction.
When Gautham found himself in the bottom, people were surprised. Gautham is the winner material and he made his mark felt in Bigg Boss Telugu season 7. Despite giving his best effort, Gautham found himself in the bottom and all the other Kannada celebrities in the top.
It genuinely angered a lot of Telugu-speaking people that the show organizers were giving maximum screen time to the Kannada celebrities and intentionally sidelining the Telugu contestants. It is true to some extent.
The Kannada celebrities did get maximum screen time because of the drama that existed between them. However, Nikhil never played unfair game. From the first day, Nikhil was polite with everyone.
He never provoked other contestants and played all the tasks effortlessly. A lot of people voted for him because of the efforts he has put in. It is to be noted that the people who voted for him are also from the Telugu community.
Even if Nikhil has a good PR which worked in his favour, the majority of votes that get polled are by the Telugu people.
Hence, the point that Kannada celebrity is winning a Telugu show can be disregarded for the one reason that the winner was never undeserving through out the show.
But, the question remains unanswered if the same situation happens in a Kannada show, would there be a Telugu winner?
