Border 2 has made its OTT debut on Netflix, but the response has been underwhelming so far. Despite its strong theatrical run, the film is struggling to impress audiences online.
The Sunny Deol starrer released on March 20 and quickly entered the Top 10 rankings. However, it has not generated the expected buzz on social media platforms.
Many viewers have pointed out issues with the film’s long runtime. Some also criticised the visual effects, calling them unconvincing and distracting in several scenes.
A section of the audience shared that they could not continue watching beyond the first few minutes. The screenplay and pacing were cited as major drawbacks affecting the overall experience.
The film features performances from Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. While the cast has delivered decent performances, it has not been enough to fully engage viewers.
Despite topping the charts, Border 2 is yet to create a strong emotional connection with audiences. The initial response suggests a gap between its theatrical success and OTT reception.
It remains to be seen how the film performs in terms of total viewership. The coming days will decide whether it can sustain its position or improve audience reception.
#Border2 is not a well made movie. Too much emphasis on a backstory, long run time and lacks interest. In comparison,Border 1 was fab. Other war films too are better. Lack of budget for special effects might as well not make it than make something that looks cartoonish

Someone told me that #JPDutta will not make movies anymore. After watching #Border2, I strongly think that he should have taken that decision before making #Border_2 for the benefit of the audience. #filmmaking #HindiMovies @Netflix @Varun_dvn was only face saver. #SunnyDeol fail

#Border2 (Hindi|2026) – NETFLIX.
Right from Artist Selection, Performance, Making, Nothing works in Favour. No Proper Characterization to any characters. Poor Production Quality, Bad VFX. ‘Ghar Kab’ Song nice. War scenes felt like a joke. A Emotionless War Drama. DISAPPOINTMENT! pic.twitter.com/MgIbAnFd2s

#Border2 (2026)-After deliberating a lot on whether to watch it in theatre or not, I finally watched it on Netflix. And now I don’t really regret the delay at all. This was never expected to be anywhere as good as #Border & hence I never really had any expectations as such.
