Asim Abbasi with cinematographer Mo Azmi has directed a visual Marvel for the small screens. Zindagi TV’s Barzakh presents the mystical story of an idyllic setting in the Land Of Nowhere. It has a wonderful star cast of Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, Salman Shahid, and M Fawad Khan. The spectacular scenic beauty of the Hunh Valley is captured in its truest essence and blended with a magical narrative.

The latest episode was released last night and revealed secrets around the intriguing character of Scheherazade. The plot thickens with some interesting revelation and the show has set itself for the later half. The purgatory and the real world intertwines along with a storytelling that moves between the present and the past. Things that were not clear are getting revealed and the show is moving toward conclusive action. The setting, performances and beautiful imagery are definitely drawing more and more fans. It also tackles some serious issues in subtle note like misogyny, sexuality, traditionalism and parental trauma.

The show has crafted a niche for itself amongst Indian & Pakistani audiences along with viewership abroad. Some issues persist with the pace of the show, while some may enjoy soaking the visuals in a slow pace, others might want some thrill with an increased intensity. There’s a lot that remains unclear, so much so that at times nothing makes sense in the Land Of Nowhere. If these issues are handled well in the later half the viewers will be thoroughly entertained.
