As OTT platforms are being criticised for replicating the Television format, a format which it was supposed to oppose initially, it seems that the issue is getting on another level.
Users have been calling out Amazon Prime Video for the successive advertisements they put on display despite a Prime subscription.
The Amazon rental scheme is another blunder that keeps on frustrating the users, but the newest issue seems to be a huge irritation for them.
Drama series Dexter Resurrection has been one of the hottest series in town as of now due to its increasing popularity and positive reviews.
However, Prime members are furious with the fact that each new episode of the series is streamed weekly and released one at a time.
Users stated how Prime Video started as an alternative to TVs and now it is emulating the exact same format. By dropping partial episodes of a season on weekly basis is replicating how TV serials are released each week.
While OTT was started to oppose what Television had to offer, this practice of releasing weekly episodes does the same kind of treatment for viewers. While the outrage seems to be genuine, it remains to be seen if Prime Video does anything to rectify the problem.
