Viewers are furious with JioHotstar for the poor quality of service. Once considered a fan favourite for streaming both Indian and international content, the platform’s standards have dropped sharply after its merger with Jio, leaving audiences deeply disappointed.
Subscribers pay high prices but still face frequent interruptions. Movies and shows are stuffed with 10 to 20 ads, making uninterrupted viewing nearly impossible. The intrusive ad placements have left users frustrated, calling the experience unpleasant and not worth the subscription fee.
In recent weeks, users also complained about long buffering and slow loading times. Many have already cancelled their subscriptions, while others continue to express outrage on social media, demanding improvements and voicing concerns over the platform’s direction.
Several viewers allege that Jio has turned the OTT into a marketing tool, showing little regard for audiences. Some even blamed the Ambanis, who hold major shares in the platform, accusing them of prioritising profit over quality and ruining the service.
For JioHotstar to rebuild trust, users believe swift action is required. The platform must cut down on ads, improve streaming quality, and address customer concerns to avoid losing more of its once-loyal subscriber base.
