JioHotstar is facing backlash from subscribers for showing too many ads even after charging high subscription fees. Viewers say they are paying extra to avoid ads, but a smooth viewing experience is still not guaranteed.
OTT platforms are expected to give people relaxation after a long day. Instead, JioHotstar is turning into a hub for ads, leaving users frustrated when they only want uninterrupted entertainment.
Several users complained on social media about the frequent ads. While a couple of ads may be tolerable, 4 to 5 long ads in a row ruin the flow and spoil the fun of watching.
Many compared this experience to cable TV, when ads could not be skipped. Some even mocked JioHotstar through memes and criticised Ambani, who holds major shares in the company.
Frustration is growing among viewers, and many warned that if JioHotstar does not reduce the number of ads, they will cancel their subscriptions and switch to other OTT platforms.
