One of the bigger disappointments in the recent past is Mr Bachchan which was released during the Independence Day weekend. The film was rejected by the theatrical audience as it opened to poor reviews and weak word of mouth.
Cut to now, the film is headed for its OTT debut on Netflix. The OTT giant announced that the film will be made available for streaming on their platform from the 12th of this month.

Bachchan is a supposed actioner and it is a remake of Bollywood’s Raid and it features Ravi Teja and Bhagyashri in the lead roles.
The shortcomings in the story and the weak narration are said to be the main detractors of the film as it struggled big time to pull the audience to the theaters.

While Raid is a proper OTT packaged film, its remake, Mr Bachchan might not possess the same capacity. After the outright rejection in theaters, can Bachchan fare any better in the OTT space? We shall wait and watch.
Usually, the OTT space is receptive to content-driven films, and considering the reviews Bachchan garnered during theatrical release, its OTT run is in question now. Can it prove this assumption wrong?
