Netflix India head Tanya Bami expressed her happiness about the response they received in 2024, saying that Maamla Legal Hai and The Great Indian Kapil Show contributed a lot to the success of the platform.
Tanya called Heeramandi the “biggest Indian series”, adding that it has turned out to be one of the “most watched and most successful Indian series” until now.

Furthermore, she mentioned that IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack was able to get a similar reputation.
According to Tanya, the new seasons of shows such as Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein, Mismatched, and Kota Factory were able to receive a positive response around the world.

Tanya stated that the dubbing of Heermandi and IC 814 in multiple languages helped them to get better recognition. Meanwhile, a third season of Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein has been already confirmed and it has created a lot of excitement among the audience.
Netflix has been in the headlines for different reasons this year. However, it was IC 814 that generated controversy for the codenames used for the terrorists. The problems were eventually sorted out at one point.
Although a certain section of the Indian content on Netflix has also been criticized over the years, it seems like the entry of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Siddharth Sengupta is expected to bring good news for the platform in the upcoming years.
