Blockbuster Comedy Show Turning Disaster on OTT

Netflix Kapil Sharma Show Third Season Flops: Low Viewership

It looks like the old format of the comedy shows are not really accepted by the new generation audiences anymore.

The third season of “The Great Indian Kapil Show” is out now, but the viewership of this show is dropping exponentially, which probably Netflix also didn’t think would happen.

The show which used to be a fun outlet for an entire generation is falling out it seems, a major reason for this is basically the format of the show and the same old jokes patterns which they have been using since the very beginning.

There was a time when the Kapil Sharma Show was one of the top most shows of Netflix’s global top ten non English shows list, but it has dropped that crown as well.

First on the Colors channel and then on Sony Tv the show gained much popularity but after the show was shut down it re-started with a tie up with Netflix.

The first two seasons did a good job, but the third season is not going as expected.

With the pilot episode featuring Salman Khan this show is facing much criticism because of some comments both the actor and the host made during that show.

But with the recent episodes featuring the cast of “Metro In Dino” we can see a drastic fall in viewership.

It explains that with the evolving generation the show should evolve itself as well, because if it goes like this it’s not far away that the audience will stop watching it all together.

Comedy is an art form which reflects the time, but if a comedy talk show doesn’t evolve with time then the longevity of the show is questionable.
